Private investors will be fully encouraged: Aslam Iqbal

We will formulate action plan in the light of proposals and recommendations being given in this regard. Provincial Minister said that there is ample scope for brining betterment in medical facilities in government hospitals.

 

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Industries & Trade, Information & Culture Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that private investors will be fully encouraged and tourism will also be promoted.

Under special economic zone sector, our government will formulate steps for formation of SEZs and will also abolish the mandatory condition of 50 acre land so that new hospitals can be setup in private sectors. To provide quality base and modern medical faculties to the people of Pakistan is our foremost priority and for achieving this objective we are utilizing all possible resources.

PTI government will ensure establishing such advanced medical facilities in our country so that people will not have to go abroad for medical treatment. Provincial Minister expressed these views while talking with media representatives on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab in a health conference being organized by PBIT at Chief Minister’s office here today.

Chairman PBIT Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, CEO Jahanzeb Awan, owners and officials of hospitals across the province also participated in the conference. Provincial Minister said that in order to promote investment in healthcare sector fruitful consultations have been done with all the stakeholders.

PTI government is paying utmost attention on bringing improvements in rural and urban healthcare centers and on non-provision of essential facilities in hospitals. The prices of medicines have increased due to fluctuation in the price of dollar. We will bring down prices of medicines soon. Provincial Minister while replying to the questions of media persons stated that if the opposition is observing black day in order to conceal their misdeeds and corruption then we have no objection.

PTI government will not allow the opposition to block the roads and create problems for the people in the name of staging protests. If the people of Pakistan are indifferent to their strike calls then we should not be blamed for their lack of interest.

In reply to another question the Minister said that the respect and dignity of Pakistan has been elevated due to successful visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to USA and our head has risen with pride owing to grand reception being accorded to Prime Minister Imran Khan from overseas Pakistanis. Prime Minister Imran Khan has highlighted the Kashmir issue in a befitting manner and also clarified that Pakistan has laid down many precious lives in the war against terrorism. International community should comprehend and appreciate this valuable sacrifice.

 

Prime Minister Imran Khan has fully portrayed the wishes and aspirations of Pakistani people. In reply to a question Provincial Minister said that the main purpose of opposition is to save their elders being caught in corruption and whosoever has looted the money of poor Pakistani will have to return it.

In reply to a question about Maryam Nawaz, Mian Aslam Iqbal stated that her real face has come before the nation. It has always been her practice to interfere in the personal lives of other people and blackmail the institutions and such examples are also available on record. Maryam Nawaz has always challenged the sovereignty and independence of the institutions and people are well aware of her misadventures and misdeeds. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that government wants to bring mega projects with regard to medical tourism.

Pakistani doctors are very competent and have also proved their mark of abilities abroad. During the conference proposals for gas and electricity in the hospitals on 24 hours basis, declaring hospitals a service industry and providing them facilities of an industry, passing of current bill for eradicating harassment and physical beating in hospitals, telemedicine industry and clinical research and proposals regarding medical colleges were also submitted.

The Provincial Minister was also briefed about problems being faced by private hospitals during the concluding part of the conference.
