LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja has said the government would ensure protection of life and property of people during ongoing rains.
He directed the staff of operations wing of local bodies and waste management companies to remain in field to ensure drainage rainwater from low laying areas of Lahore.
Raja desired that the instructions issued by the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar must be implemented in true spirit to tackle the hazards of heavy rains. He said that district administration should remain in liaison with emergency services and other concerned departments.
He asked the local government authorities to cooperate with traffic police for ensuring smooth flow of traffic in monsoon.
