Bilawal demands resignation of speaker, deputy speaker

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday complained that he was not allowed to speak ‘yet again” in the Parliament during Monday’s session.
The PPP young chairperson demanded resignation of NA Speaker Asad Qaisar and Deputy Speaker Suri for not maintaining balance between the government and opposition members.
He demanded this while addressing a press conference hours after his father Asif Ali Zardari’s arrest. The PPP young chairperson said three of the government members were allowed to speak the session but he was denied to speak in the House, he maintained.
He condemned the attitude of the National Assembly speaker and deputy speaker and demanded that they resign from their posts because they are not impartial. The Parliament session on Monday was adjourned after opposition members surrounded the speaker’s dais and protested against deputy speaker giving the floor to Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed instead of Bilawal.
The PPP chairperson further said they have seen with their own eyes that when someone from the government benches indicates, the speaker gets up or sits down. He said he is an elected representative of the people of Larkana but he wasn’t allowed to speak at the National Assembly floor.
