Chinese Vice President and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar agrees to expand cooperation in different sectors

LAHORE: Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan met with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Monday and discussed various matters of mutual interest including the promotion of Pakistan-China relations, progress made on CPEC related projects and expansion of bilateral cooperation in various sectors. It was decided to further expand cooperation in trade, agriculture, and tourism sectors and both also decided to promote partnership between Punjab and major Chinese cities. On the occasion, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan-China relations are not between the two countries but an immortal bond of friendship between the two brothers. He said that China has helped its 70 crore people during the last 20 years to alleviate their poverty and added that this unique Chinese model will be implemented in Punjab to eradicate poverty. Chinese Vice President has tremendously worked for the elimination of corruption and China is a role model for us for the eradication of corruption, he said. Usman Buzdar said that he is truly happy to be the host of the respected guest of a great friendly country. Chinese cooperation is praiseworthy in matters of national security and regional stability, he maintained. Participation of Prime Minister Imran Khan in the second belt and road forum in China has yielded positive results. The Belt and Road Initiative of Chinese president is not only a regional but a globally important game-changer initiative and attention is also focused on industrial cooperation, agricultural development, and poverty alleviation during the second phase of the CPEC. He said that Chinese working on different projects in Pakistan are our brothers and added that a new history of Pakistan-China friendship has been written. The Pakistan-China friendship is also an asset for the future generations, he added. Pakistan and China are moving on a new journey of development and the bond of Pakistan-China friendship will be alive forever. The Chief Minister said that a new period of economic development has been started and added that investment made by the Chinese companies is praiseworthy. The unique relations will be further strengthened due to the visit of Chinese Vice President and cooperation will be continued at every level for the completion of projects launched with Chinese cooperation in Punjab, he further said. Chinese Vice President said that he has come to Pakistan on the direction of the Chinese president and he wants to give a message to the world that Pakistan-China friendship is very strong. Lahore has given immense love and affection and Pakistan-China friendship is based on even more durable foundations. Meetings with the Pakistani leadership has been very positive and the leadership of China and Pakistan is very close to each other, he said. The relations between the two countries are getting stronger day by day. Lahore is a historic city and it is a reality that he, who has not seen Lahore, has not seen Pakistan. Chinese cooperation in the journey of the development of Pakistan will be continued and CPEC is a living example of Pakistan-China friendship. The partnership between Punjab and Chengdu will be expanded and we are ready to promote cooperation in different sectors between Lahore and Xi’an city, he added. It is the need of the hour to promote cooperation between Punjab and major Chinese cities in different sectors including culture and economy. CPEC has proved a game-changer for the region and the pace of industrial development has been accelerated by expanding economic cooperation, he further said.
